Phitku makes a roll-on built on purified alum crystal — a natural mineral that targets the bacteria that cause odor, instead of masking the smell with fragrance or blocking sweat glands with aluminium chlorohydrate.
Most roll-ons and sticks either mask body odor with fragrance or use aluminium-salt antiperspirants to physically block sweat glands. Both come with real downsides: fragrance fades and competes with the smell rather than stopping it, and aluminium-based antiperspirants can leave white marks on clothes, feel sticky through the day, and put off people wary of aluminium exposure — a debated but common concern.
Phitku's roll-on uses cosmetic-grade purified alum crystal combined with botanical extracts. The claim, from the brand: alum is naturally antibacterial, so it works on the bacteria that produce the odor at the source, rather than blocking sweat or covering the smell — with no white marks, no stickiness, and no aluminium chlorohydrate. We haven't independently verified this outperforms other antiperspirants; it's the brand's own formulation claim.
Phitku only started in January 2025 and got its first real visibility in early 2026, when it secured a deal with Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal on Shark Tank India at a ₹180 crore valuation. It's genuinely new — most people haven't come across it yet. Worth knowing: the product is marketed unisex, not specifically for men, and it competes in the same body-odor category as Smelloff on this site, just with a different mechanism.
